Aundria was born Alexis Miranda Badger and was placed in the care of Dennis and Brenda Bowman. Sexual abuse, among other forms, was what she allegedly endured in the adoptive home.

Aundria vanished from her Hamilton, Michigan, home on March 11, 1989. At the time, Dennis Bowman reported her as a runaway, stating she had stolen money from him.

Therefore, Bowman was arrested in November 2019 for the unrelated murder of Kathleen Doyle. While in custody, he confessed to the murder of Aundria Bowman, revealing the details of her tragic loss.
During one of their arguments, Dennis claimed he had killed Aundria. He later admitted that she had fallen and passed.
However, he also confessed to dismembering her body and burying the remains under a slab of cement in their backyard.
A court sentenced Dennis Bowman to two terms of life imprisonment for the murder of Kathleen Doyle.
The court sentenced him to 35 to 50 years of imprisonment for the murder of Aundria after he pleaded no contest to second-degree murder.
Throughout the documentary, Cathy talks about how attached she is to Aundria, even though she doesn’t know many things about her daughter. This explains her maternal instinct and determination for justice.
