Sophie Elton, the 12-year-old girl from Oklahoma, tragically passes away as a result of a bully!

Sophie Elton tragically passed away just 58 days before turning 13.

Sophie Kay Elton, 12, from Chandler, Oklahoma, recently took her own life on August 30, 2024, reportedly as a result of a bully.

According to several reports, Sophie Elton was struggling with mental health issues and was the victim of bullying at her school. She was a student at Chandler Junior High School.

In response to her demise, many people are sharing their posts against bullying of children that leads to mental suffering and self-harm.

Meanwhile, Heather Wyatt, mother of the late Aubreigh Wyatt, has been actively sharing videos on her Tiktok intending to protect bully victims from taking harmful steps.

Many other people are also starting campaigns to protect children against bullying in schools and colleges. People are sending their condolences to Sophie Elton’s family and loved ones.

Late Sophie Elton and her family moved to Chandler, Oklahoma, when she was 2 years old!

Sophie Elton was born on October 27, 2011, to mother Kathryn LaVonne Elton Schmidt and father Nallon Schmidt in Claremore, Oklahoma, and moved to Chandler, Oklahoma, when she was 2 years old.

Moreover, her mother, Kathryn Schmidt, is a director of Nursing at Stroud Healthcare. According to her Facebook, she studied Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and Registered Nursing at Rose State College.

Regarding her father, Nallon Schmidt works at Hub’s Vending Corporation; he worked at Flying Saucer Draught Emporium before that. Nallon is also a former Bartender at Winchester Bowl and Kennel tech at Open Arms Animal Hospital.

Sophie Elton’s parents often shared her pictures on social media. In her memorial service post on Facebook, her family stated that Sophie was the life of the party; she was kind, thoughtful, and wise. She was also a great student who attended all her classes and participated in school activities.

The post stated, “Sophie always puts everyone else’s needs and wants before hers. She loved to dance, sing, and go on adventures, no matter what hour of the day she was down for the experience. She was creative, making the funniest videos and top-tier school projects, and loved her family.

Sophie is survived by her siblings Maxwell Schmid, Miles Schmidt, Ragen Taylor, Jax Taylor, her grandparents Lori and Todd Elton, and her whole family and loved ones.

  • Sophie Elton played softball for the Chandler Jr. High softball team and was also a cheerleader on the cheer squad. She played softball for a tournament team out of Davenport.
  • Her mother, Kathryn Schmidt, is originally from Oconto, Wisconsin, whereas her father, Nallon, is from Horn Lake, Mississippi.
  • Several fundraisers were started to help Sophie Elton’s family organize her memorial service.
