Since her career began in 2011, American artistic gymnast Simone Biles has achieved a lot, establishing herself as one of the most decorated gymnasts in history. Over the years, she has made her country proud multiple times, winning several Olympian medals, but despite that, she couldn’t stay still from all the trolls and rumors.
Lately, rumors about the athlete undergoing rhinoplasty have garnered people’s attention. On July 31, 2024, a Twitter user named Michael Jacobson tweeted, “Simone Biles has 100% had a nose job to make her face more white. Google has completely scrubbed this from the internet.”
But as far as our research suggests, Simone Biles hasn’t had a nose job, as nothing different in her nose has been noticed yet. Further, she highly believes in embracing oneself on whatever skin tone or appearance one was born with.
While collaborating with skincare brand SK-II a few years back, Simone stated, “You all can judge my body all you want … it’s MY body. I love it and I’m comfortable in my skin.” The statement was actually a slam for her trollers, who kept commenting on her appearance.
Simone further stated that God made her the way she is, and she totally acknowledges it because whatever she has accomplished so far is the contribution of her physical attributes, especially her legs and calves.
Simone Biles once bashed societal beauty standards, saying, ‘Beauty is #NOCOMPETITION’
Back on February 12, 2020, Simone Biles shared an Instagram post reflecting on her unpleasant experience with the beauty standard that society has created.
In the lengthy post, she discussed beauty competitions that she or others often face in sports or other areas, regardless of their incredible talent.
Simone further wrote that such competition had become a daily challenge for her as people often judged her for her arms, legs, and overall body and how she looked in a dress like a bathing suit or casual pants.Â
But now, she has finally unlearned the beauty standards that the people created because beauty is not a competition. Regarding the matter, she wrote, “I’ve learned to put on a strong front and let most of it slide…Nobody should tell you or I what beauty should or should not look like.”
Well, as strong as Simone is as a gymnast, she is equally strong and brave as a person who has the courage to speak up against injustice and wickedness.
