French industrialist Michel Soufflet, famously known as the ‘King of grain,’ passed away at 94 on Sunday, September 8, 2024, and people appear to be speculating if he had an accident before his demise as it’s entirely on-trend.
But as of now, the family of Michel Soufflet hasn’t confirmed the news of his accident, so it’s more likely to be delusional stuff, not the truth.
Whatever the ongoing rumors are, it can’t be denied that the man, considered one of the giants of French agricultural power, has bid goodbye to the living world. No wonder his family and employees are grieving at the moment.
Il fut un des artisans bien discret d'une fierté française : notre pays est le numéro un mondial incontesté du malt à bière.

Michel Soufflet, patron du groupe qui porte son nom, racheté par InVivo en 2021, est mort https://t.co/feakkToNuW
Recently, talking to L’Est Eclair, one of his former employees said, “He was there when ..needed. He was very close to the employees’ families, and if one of them was experiencing difficulties, he always made sure to check in and, if necessary, help them…”
Michel Soufflet has worked all his life to expand the grain business his parents started and successfully built an empire!
Michel Soufflet’s parents, Jean Soufflet and Yvonne Juchat, started their own grain business, The Souffflet Group, in June 1927 and successfully ran it for three decades.
When Jean Soufflet passed away in 1957, the then 27-year-old Michel became the head of his parent’s business, and five years later, he launched a new idea in the business, launching a new service, the removal and transport of grain from the field to the silo.
Toutes mes condoléances à ses proches et à sa famille. Michel Soufflet faisait partie de ses dirigeants leaders, qui ont beaucoup agit pour l'agriculture. https://t.co/ZPzLdOyyMV

As time passed, he slowly expanded the business, opening branches in other places, including England, and developing it as the largest miller of grain and producer of malt in France.
Michel’s company, The Souffflet Group, had 9 businesses overall. In 2021, The Souffflet Group was sold to InVivo, but Michel’s legacy was so strong that InVivo didn’t change the company’s name.
