The head coach of the American professional football team Chicago Bears, Matt Eberflus, who has over 30 years of coaching experience, earns a $7 million salary per year.

Matt Eberflus began his coaching career in 1992 as a student coach and has been involved with different teams since then.

With 30 years of experience in football coaching, Matt joined Chicago Bears for National Football League (NFL) 2022 as the 17th head coach and won his head coaching debut on September 11, as the team beat the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 19–10.

According to sources, the highest-paid coaches’ annual salaries for the NFL 2023 season ranged from $9.5 million to $20 million, and the least-paid coaches earned around $3.5 million. However, Matt was not on the list.

Matt Eberflus, currently the head coach of the Chicago Bears, has been in the NFL since 2009 and has coached several teams.

He began his coaching journey as a student assistant coach under Gary Pinkel at the University of Toledo in 1992. In addition, Matt got a full-time spot as recruiting coordinator/outside linebackers coach in 1994.

In 2001, Gary Pinkel brought Matt along with him as a defensive coordinator when Gary was named head coach at the University of Missouri (Columbia). Likewise, Matt became the associate head coach at the same university in 2006.

However, after working for 8 years, Matt left Missouri in 2009 for the NFL, where he became the Cleveland Browns’ linebackers coach. For two seasons, he worked under head coach Eric Mangini and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.

Besides, in 2011, Matt followed Rob Ryan and joined the Dallas Cowboys as a linebacker coach under head coach Jason Garrett. Further, he also worked with the Indianapolis Colts as the head coach’s defensive coordinator.

Finally, in 2022, after years of struggle and hard work, Matt Eberflus became the 17th head coach of the Chicago Bears.
