Latoya Ammons’ youngest son, Armani Lasean Ammons, passed away at a young age of 17!

Armani Ammons is survived by his mother Latoya, father Andrew R. Smith Sr and whole Ammons family.

Date:

Latoya Ammons, featured in the new Netflix horror movie The Deliverance, lost her youngest son, Armani Lasean Ammons, on October 8, 2021.

Armani Lasean Ammons was born to Latoya Ammons and her husband, Andrew Smith, on April 20, 2004, in Gary, Indiana. He was a resident of Gary, Indiana, for eight years and became an Indianapolis resident for nine years.

He passed away in his mother’s arms during his teenage, 12 years after the tragic incident took place in Ammons’ family, which turned their lives upside down.

The story began in November 2011, when Latoya Ammons, her three children, two sons and one daughter, and her mother, Rosa Campbell, moved into a rental house on Carolina Street in Gary.

Right after they shifted, they began to experience several unusual activities, especially when Latoya’s children, ages 7, 9, and 12, started behaving differently.

According to Indystar, Latoya Ammons revealed that her youngest son, Armani, then 7, sat in a closet talking to a boy no one else could see, and slowly, things started worsening.

Worried about her children’s health, Latoya visited their family physician, Dr. Geoffery Onyeukwu, on April 19, 2012, thinking she could find some solution.

Latoya Ammons’ youngest son, Armani Ammons, was hospitalized in April 2012!

After experiencing distressing episodes, the Department of Child Services (DCS) took Armani Ammons under custody for a psychological evaluation.

Likewise, while closely monitoring his behavior by medical professionals, the DCS report stated the boy was lifted and thrown into the wall with nobody touching him,” and he fainted.

After that, he was immediately taken to Methodist Hospital’s campus in Gary, where he showed aggressive behavior like screaming and throwing things.

Furthermore, his behavior made DCS investigate Latoya for negligence of the child or possible child abuse, which resulted in his behavior. People also speculated that Armani might have a mental illness.

DCS took custody of all three children of Latoya after filing a petition on Lake Juvenile Court for their temporary wardship. They found that Latoya neglected her children’s education by not having them in school regularly.

In response to the DCS decision, Latoya said, “It was obvious we were a team, and we were beating it — whatever we were fighting. We made it together as a team, and they separated us.” She added that she could not send the kids to school sometimes because the spirits would make them sick.

At that time, DCS temporarily placed her daughter and older son at St. Joseph’s Carmelite Home in East Chicago. In contrast, Armani went to Christian Havein in Wheatfield for a psychiatric evaluation.

But eventually, after several exorcisms and other activities, Latoya regained custody of her children in November 2012, nearly after six months. Over 1 year of experiencing painful events, Latoya peacefully lived with her son Armani until he passed away in 2021.
