On December 28, 2022, the Congressman released a statement saying, “After several days of tests, I have been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, which is a serious but curable form of cancer.”
He further mentioned that he was about to start chemo-immunotherapy on an outpatient basis at Med Star Georgetown University Hospital and Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. For this reason, he wore a bandana on his head to hide his falling hair.
While Jamie Raskin is out of cancer, this was not the first time he got a diagnosis with cancer. He was also diagnosed with colon cancer while serving in the Maryland State Senate in 2010. However, both times, these cancers proved to be non-fatal.
