Eric Leroy Adams, an American politician serving as the 110th mayor of New York City, was indicted on Wednesday, September 25, for federal unlawful charges.
With his recent indictment, the 64—year-old Eric Adams became the first mayor in New York history to be charged with corruption while in office.
Likewise, according to CNN, the indictment follows a monthlong federal investigation by the US attorney’s office in Manhattan, which was reportedly investigating his connection to Turkish officials and businessmen and campaign donations he received.
