With Linkin Park’s September 5 announcement about Emily Armstrong joining the band as a co-vocalist alongside the co-founder Mike Shinoda, the internet is in shambles.
Emily Armstrong, 38, is the lead vocalist and co-founder of the famous American rock band Dead Sara.
With her powerful vocals and strong sound, she has been compared to the likes of Janis Joplin, Robert Plant, and Jim Morrison.
Her music career was going well and would soar after the recent LP’s announcement, but her past connections with Danny Masterson came to haunt her.
funny how linkin park’s new lead singer emily armstrong is a known member of the infamous scientology cult and showed up to support danny masterson at his trial in 2022 where he was accused and was later found guilty of two counts of r*pe in 2024 pic.twitter.com/PjofVLLU73

Danny Masterson, a former member of the Scientology church, was accused of r*ping several women.
Although Danny pleaded not guilty to the charges, Los Angeles judge Charlaine F. Olmedo thought otherwise and sentenced him to 30 years in prison for the r*pe of two women.
What did Emily do? Well, publicly supported Masterson and claimed that all the allegations against him were fake.
The band Linkin Park also got mixed up in the controversy and is getting severe backlash from the fans
After Linkin Park’s decision to appoint Emily Armstrong as the co-vocalist in the band, they became the hot talk of the town.
But take my word for it, the talks are not good.
Given Emily Armstrong’s connections with Danny Masterson and their past, fans around the world disapproved of her inclusion.
Hate to say this, but I cannot get behind the new lead singer of Linkin Park. Just no. Sorry, but they lost a fan. Chester would not have approved of this. He's probably rolling in his grave right now.

People also widely believe that Emily is a Scientologist and an active member of the Church of Scientology.
The two-time Grammy winner band Linkin Park was very popular among fans. They were spearheaded by Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda until Bennington took his own life in 2017.
Since then, the band has not enjoyed its peak popularity, which might have prompted the decision to hire a co-vocalist, as Shinoda could not handle the role alone.
But, considering how the fans keep Linkin Park close to their heart, this decision might backfire big time.
Chester Bennington was very popular among LP fans, and I don’t think they can imagine seeing a controversial figure like Emily replace him.
Currently, Danny Masterson is repenting for his crimes in the California Men’s Colony, a minimum security prison in California.
