In the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a 14-year-old skateboarder, Arisa Trew, created a record in the history of the Olympics by becoming the youngest Australian ever to win Olympic gold, and this has undoubtedly made her parents, Simone and Aiko Trew, absolutely proud of her.
In fact, they are completely surprised by what their daughter Arisa achieved at such a young age. Later, while talking to the media, her father Simone said, “We can’t believe it. It’s crazy, crazy, absolutely crazy. Yeah, it’s just don’t know what to say.”
Simone further explained that his daughter Arisa was doing skateboarding just for fun. But as her coach pulled her through, she gained such a milestone.
Likewise, Arisa’s dad lastly stated, “I think she’s more interested in just collecting the pins,” and laughed it out. Arisa’s mother, Aiko, then added that her daughter Arisa had already collected 63 pins.
Arisa Trew revealed that her parents promised her a pet duck as a reward if she won a gold medal in the Olympics!
During the media interaction, Arisa Trew discussed the deal her parents made with her before she competed in the Olympics. She said her parents had promised her a pet duck if she secured a gold medal.
She further stated that since her family keeps traveling, her parents definitely won’t let her have a pet dog or cat, so she humbly requested a pet duck.
In this regard, Arisa said, “Because they are really cute. Then I can take it on walks and take it to the skate park. But I feel like a duck might be a little bit easier.”
Since Arisa has now won a gold medal as a skateboarder in the Olympics, we guess she will certainly fulfill her dream of owning a pet.
Olympian Arisa Trew highly adores her mother Aiko’s Japanese heritage
Skateboarder Arisa Trew is Japanese-Australian since her father, Simone, is of Welsh descent, and her mother, Aiko, is Japanese.
Her father, who is a Welsh native, moved to Australia in 1999 and settled down there with his wife Aiko and while residing in Crains, the Trew couple welcomed Arisa.
She was born in Cairns, Queensland; it’s no wonder she is Australian by nationality. However, she takes pride in her mixed ethnic background and seems more inclined towards her mom’s heritage.
Talking to Guardian, she once introduced her mom’s Japanese ancestry and said, “I love Japan and all the Japanese skaters are crazy good.”
