American beach volleyball player Kelly Cheng is currently representing her country in the Paris 2024 Olympics. She teamed up with fellow volleyball player Sara Hughes and ended up ranking in no. 3, defeating Barbora Hermannova and Marie-Sara Stochlova in her first Olympic game.
She began playing Volleyball in 2014 and has aspired to become an Olympic player ever since. In 2020, she qualified for the Olympics for the first time, and four years later, she is again playing in the Olympics, for which she appeared pretty excited.
A month before the Paris 2024 Olympics began, Kelly Cheng shared a picture on her Instagram with the caption, “Happy Olympic Day ✨Can’t wait to compete on the biggest stage again! All glory to God. Let’s go 🇺🇸.”
Meanwhile, she flaunted her Olympic ring tattoo engraved on her arm, showcasing her passion for the athletic festival.
Kelly Cheng has an Alchemist tattoo on her ribs, which got great exposure during the Olympics; why so?
During the Paris 2024 Olympic games, Kelly Cheng’s tattoo on her rib cage, which read ‘A heart made Fullmetal,’ caught people’s attention.
Soon after, people started discussing her tattoo on social media. On July 29, 2024, a Twitter user named Bennett Herbert shared Kelly’s tattoo picture on his Twitter, “Kelly Cheng’s Full Metal Alchemist tattoo is raw.”

Likewise, another user named Aun wrote that Kelly impressed him with her metal alchemist tattoo. After that, people began interpreting its meaning in their own way.
Well, some appear to assume her alchemist tattoo is an homage to the Japanese manga Fullmetal Alchemist, as one commented, “Kelly Cheng has a Fullmetal Alchemist tattoo. Oh, I just know my girl has seen Haikyuu.”
But, if her tattoo is interpreted more literally, it’s more likely to speak of her internal strength and determination toward what she is doing.
