Linsey Davis, an American broadcast journalist with ABC News, comes from a family with a teaching background as her parents were both educators.
American broadcast journalist and actress Linsey David was born on October 21, 1977, in Pennsylvania, USA, and was raised by her parents, Ronald and Beverly.
As revealed by Davis herself in Jesus Calling Podcast, both of her parents were school teachers;Â her father, Ronald, was a Math teacher, whereas her mother was an English teacher.
As of now, while her mother, Beverly, has retired from her teaching profession, her father ventured into business and opened his own construction company.
Linsey Davis is a descendant of one of the first Black Americans to register to vote in the USA!
With the help of the 100 Million Names project, Emmy award-winning journalist Linsey Davis discovered her family history.
According to ABC News, it partnered with the 10 Million Names Project, which seeks to overcome the genealogical “brick wall” that makes it difficult for Black Americans to access their ancestral records and historical information, including names, from before 1870.
As a result of this project, Kenyatta Berry, a professional genealogist, revealed her family tree to Linsey. Linsey said it was fascinating to learn about her family tree because she didn’t have any information about her ancestors.
According to Kenyatta, Davis’ great-great-great paternal grandfather, Tobe Murray, was born in Georgia in about 1829. Additionally, Tobe registered to vote on June 29, 1867.
Kenyatta also mentioned that Tobe was the first in her family to register to vote. He might have been one of the earliest black Americans to cast a vote in the USA. Because of this, Linsey is the descendant of one of the first African Americans to vote in America.
