Doug Emhoff is the second child of Barbara and Michael Emhoff, who have been married to each other for over six decades. As per the reports, the beautiful old couple married on April 19, 1959.

In April 2019, Barbara and Michael celebrated their 60th marriage anniversary, and their son Doug Emhoff dedicated a Twitter post on the special occasion, captioning, “Happier note on this hectic news day: my parents are celebrating 60 YEARS of marriage today!! Love u, mom and dad! “
Well, after 65 years of marriage, Doug Emhoff’s parents are still happily and harmoniously by each other’s sides. They have welcomed three children together: two sons, Andy and Doug, and a daughter, Jamie and have been highly supportive of their kid’s career.

On August 20, 2024, Doug Emhoff, husband of Kamala Harris and the second gentleman, spoke at the democratic national convention, but before the DNC speech, Doug shared a video of his parents talking about him and his wife, Kamala Harris.
The video was captioned, “In case you were wondering where I get my charm and good looks. Thanks, Mom and Dad.” In the video, his parents introduce themselves as the parents of the second gentleman, Doug, whom they call Dougie, and further praise their son.

His mom stated that wherever she goes, anybody who knows Doug comes over to her and says, Oh, your son’s so wonderful. In addition, his mom believes that he is a real person and that whatever he does comes from his heart.
Moreover, she mentioned, “We are so proud that he is going to help Kamala win this election.” Barbara also said that Kamala is a wonderful daughter-in-law and a great cook.
Lastly, in the video, Doug’s parents wish him luck with the DNC speech and hope that Kamala will become the next president.
