Jake Weddle’s recent YouTube video has captured the attention of thousands of fans. Although the video’s essential motive was to discuss why he left Mr. Beast, Weddle ended up talking a lot about his dad.
In the same video, he mentioned his dad, saying, “People loved my dad. Everybody thought he was the coolest, nicest man in the world. I would talk about how my dad was like, and people were like, what that guy, no way!“
“It wasn’t until news broke, he did someting bad, to a kid, that people started changing their attitude, I got a lot of sorries; I dont know just seemed like a relevant story,” he continued, making it evident that his dad was arrested.
So, it seems that, by video, he wanted to convey a simple moral: not everyone is the same inside as he seems on the outside. He also apparently seems to warn Mr. Beast about the day his real face comes out.

Although Jake Weddle exclusively mentioned his dad’s involvement in the child-related offense, fans were still unsure if what he was saying was true or just a comedy.
Looking through posts on Twitter, a user mentioned Jake Weddle’s father’s name, Nathan Weddle.
A quick Google search also brings crime news of Nathan Weddle. He was charged with six felony counts of statutory sex offenses with a minor.
Likewise, according to Swim Swam, on January 24th, 2018, the United States Center for Safe Sport banned Nathan Weddle, preventing him from joining any USOC-affiliated organizations, including USA Swimming.
Since Jake has never exclusively mentioned his father’s name, it’s difficult to point out if his dad is the real swimming coach, Nathan, with those sex offenses.
However, taking the evidence into account that Jake lives in North Carolina and Nathan Weddle was also arrested from Raleigh, North Carolina, establishes a most probable case scenario: his father is the swim coach who got arrested.
Regardless, Jake Weddle does not seem to have a good relationship with his dad but shares a close bond with his mother, Angela Berg, and siblings: a sister and a brother.
While there are virtually no posts featuring his father, Jake Weddle has no problem taking to Instagram on special occasions to cheer for his mother and siblings. Furthermore, he even featured his mother in one of his recent YouTube videos.
